The Crafty Network ~ 7th November Craft Challenge ~ Remember, Remember!

02 Nov

OK, I was totally undecided what the challenge should be this week, what with Guy Fawkes Night/Bonfire Night on the 5th November, all those lovely Fireworks and wonderful colours going off in the sky for inspiration and then its Remembrance Day (Poppy Day or Armistice Day) on the 11th November.  A memorial day observed in the Commonwealth countries since the end of World War 1, to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.  So I thought I would let you decide?

You can choose to take your inspiration from Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day or even what you think the month of November means to you.  Again, all I ask is that it is a handmade craft.  When I say craft, it can be anything that you have created, ie. a drawing, painting, photograph, carving, card/paper items, jewellery item, fabric, wool and felt items, soaps, candles etc, I hope you get my meaning?  I welcome everyone, new comers wanting to enter for the first time (don’t be shy) and also all the regulars who without you this challenge would not have been so successful. Thank you, I really look forward to seeing your entries, please make sure you include at least one contact url and a brief description of your item.

I also thought I would just mention that this will be the penultimate challenge for this year, the last one being announced on the 23rd November (which I can let you into a secret will be a Christmas theme, so obvious really!).  I am sure you will all be very busy with christmas and craft fairs etc so I thought it wouldn’t be fair to distract you with another challenge just before Christmas.

ANNOUNCEMENT ~ Then in January I will open up a vote to choose the Ultimate Winner and 2 Runners up from all the past Winners and runners up from 2012, when finally I will be giving out prizes.  I really can’t wait for this as I’m looking forward to seeing how you choose from all the fantastic previous winners and runners up.

The WINNER will receive ~ £40 Hobbycraft Vouchers as well as a years worth of promotion on the Blog, including a feature and regular promotes on the TCN Facebook page.

2 x RUNNERS UP ~ £20 each Hobbycraft Vouchers

Then has an extra surprise the next 7 runners up with the most votes will receive an envelope which will either include just a token prize or a token prize plus a £5 Hobbycraft voucher. Only 4 of these envelopes will include the voucher and I will randomly choose which envelope gets sent to who, I won’t even know who will get what!

Please interpret the theme however you wish, all you have to remember, it must be handmade.  Look at what you have already made, as I don’t expect you to make something specifically for the challenge, unless of course you want to.

Good luck everyone, fingers crossed you are inspired to send in an entry and please be brave enough to join in and send in a photo of your crafts just look at it as another way to promote your business and I’d love to encourage everyone to have a go! 🙂

All entries must be emailed to: and received no later than Wednesday the 7th November at 12 midnight (GMT time).

Only one entry (photograph) per person/business and please ensure you include at least one contact (Facebook page, Website, on-line shop, Blog url, along with a brief description of the item, this helps to promote your item).

For the full rules please visit this link Mini Challenge Rules.

Thanks & Good luck.
