The Crafty Network ~ 11th July Mini Challenge “Book Inspired Crafts “

06 Jul

Maybe it’s that time of year, but I seem to be reading a lot lately or is there just lots of good books around at the moment?  I like nothing better than settling down (preferably on a sun bed, next to a pool, with a tall glass of something cool, Ahhhh if only!)  with a good book and getting engrossed into the lives of some fictitious characters, reading an autobiography or learning something new.  I will read almost anything, including reading the latest best-selling trilogy about the mercurial Mr Grey, say no more!  The problem usually is I get so engrossed, everything else has to stop until I’ve finished the book, then I get sad 😦 until I move on to the next good book 🙂

I love chick lit books, romantic classics, thrillers, books that keep you guessing at every turn of the page, I also found myself addicted to the Harry Potter Books (along with most other people), I started reading them years ago as a bedtime story for my kids, but became so engrossed I carried on reading them once I’d said good night!

Everybody loves a good book, from young children first learning to read and then becoming enraptured by the likes of The Gruffallo, Thomas the Tank Engine, Peter Rabbit, classic fairy tales etc.  Then Teens and adults caught up in Twilight, Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, Fifty Shades and the wide selection of classics, there are just far too many to mention. Also, not forgetting that many books have inspired some great films, plays and musicals.

So yes you’ve guessed it, this week’s challenge is for a craft inspired or influenced by a Book, “Book Inspired Crafts“.  Any book, your choice, I do not want to limit your creative talents, just tell me the book when you send in your entry.

Please interpret the theme however you wish, all you have to remember, it must be handmade.  Look at what you have already made, as I don’t expect you to make something specifically for the challenge, unless of course you want to.

Good luck everyone, fingers crossed you are inspired to send in an entry and please be brave enough to join in and send in a photo of your crafts just look at it as another way to promote your business and I’d love to encourage everyone to have a go! 🙂

All entries must be emailed to: and received no later than Wednesday the 11th July at 12 midnight (GMT time).  Only one entry (photograph) per person/business.  For the full rules please visit this link Mini Challenge Rules.

Thanks & Good luck.
